This beats That

This is the simplest of simple games, although if it goes on long enough it can get pretty dang entertaining.
The premise of the game is that someone posts something, then the next person posts something that beats it. This,"something" can be an object, an idea, an action, anything that you can think of. "Beating" something is a very general term, as there are several ways to beat something.
The most common and obvious way is to physically destroy it...
Man B: Fire
Man A: Water beats Fire
However, you can also make the thing obsolete or pointless (this is usually done to something that isn't a single tangible object)...
Man B: The death of the Sun
Man A: Humanity moving to a new star system beats The Death of the Sun
Additionally, irony is a suitable means of defeating something...
Woman A: The Matrix
Kyogre Q: Really bad sequels beat The Matrix
One more rule, please explain how your thing beats the previous person's thing if it isn't obvious...
Link Y: Chuck Norris (also please refrain from using Chuck Norris as a cop-out)
Man A: Bruce Lee beats Chuck Norris, since he beat him in a fight in one of Chuck Norris' movies.
While the game may sound stupid, on several occasions it has led to very strange things, such as Chinese google, A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Leeroy Jankins, and Ronald McDonald. So anyway, yeah, let's see how this goes.

Man C: 99 lives beat an Endless Pit (like in the comic)
Man D: Contra beats 99 lives (the game is so hard, it doesn't matter how many you have)
Man E: Skyward Sword beats Contra (since it's more modern and had better sales)
NOOB: lololololol a nuke beats Skyward Sword
etc.
